Google announced Gemini 2 Ultra, the largest model in the Gemini family, with a context window of 2 million tokens — the largest context ever offered by a commercial model.

What's all the context for?

In practice, 2 million tokens allow processing:

  • An entire 1,500-page book in a single call
  • Code repositories with tens of thousands of lines
  • Videos up to 2 hours with frame-by-frame analysis
  • Full Corporate Knowledge Bases

    Availability

    Available today at Google AI Studio and via API Vertex AI. The price is competitive: $7/M tokens input and $21/M tokens output. Google also announced that Gemini 2 Pro (lighter version) will receive context of 1M tokens in the coming weeks.
